About the Project

The goal of the project is to create a technologically advanced system that automatically, efficiently, and economically irrigates lawns by delivering water directly beneath the turf surface - right at the grass roots. This method maximizes water conservation, improves vegetation health, and reduces user maintenance.

The project is targeted at both homeowners and property managers, landscaping companies, and local governments responsible for maintaining green spaces in public areas. The technology has potential for integration with smart home systems.

Benefits

Ecology

💧 Ecology: Root-level irrigation - up to 50% less water usage. Eliminates surface water evaporation and reduces runoff.

Aesthetics

🌱 Aesthetics: Green, healthy, and dense lawn throughout the season. Lawns that receive water regularly and precisely in appropriate amounts are intensely green and thick.

Automation

📱 Automation: Mobile app with AI and scheduling. Thanks to the mobile app and AI algorithm, users no longer need to plan watering themselves.

Personalization

🛠️ Personalization: Manual control and watering zones. The system allows for complete personalization. Users can set schedules manually and create custom watering zones.

Savings

💸 Savings: Less fertilizer, fewer repairs, lower bills. Reduced water consumption means lower bills, and improved lawn health reduces the need to invest in fertilizers.

How It Works

The system uses an advanced network of micro-diffusers placed under the grass layer, at a depth corresponding to the root zone. This ensures water goes exactly where it's most needed - directly to the roots.

All data from sensors is transmitted to a mobile app available on Android and iOS devices. In the app, users can check:

  • current soil moisture level (percentage)
  • recommended optimal moisture
  • soil temperature
  • watering schedule
  • estimated water usage
